Aqua Miner: Underwater Drilling Game
More games to play
Aqua Miner is a free browser incremental game where you pilot a drilling rig into the ocean floor, collect resources, and reinvest them into better equipment. No download needed, and it runs on desktop and mobile, so you can play at school or work whenever you have a spare few minutes. The loop is simple: drill down, pick up what you uncover, sell it, upgrade, repeat. The deeper you go, the richer the materials get, but your rig needs to be ready for it.
What is Aqua Miner?
Aqua Miner is a casual incremental simulation game set below the surface of the ocean. You control a drilling machine that descends through layers of seabed, breaking up rock and scooping up ores and minerals. The cash you earn from selling those materials funds upgrades to your drill speed, cargo hold, fuel capacity, and hull strength. Over time you push deeper into harder rock and find more valuable deposits. There is no combat, just the steady rhythm of digging, selling, and improving.
How to control the drill
The controls are minimal by design. Use them to steer and manage your rig as you descend.
| Action | Desktop | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Steer left or right | Arrow keys or A / D | Tilt on-screen joystick |
| Return to surface | Release drill or tap surface button | Tap the surface icon |
| Collect ore | Drive into it | Drive into it |
| Open upgrades | Click the shop button | Tap the shop button |
Upgrades and progression
Every run earns cash that you spend on permanent improvements. The upgrade tree is what makes the game an incremental, since each purchase stretches how far you can realistically go on the next dive.
| Upgrade | What it does |
|---|---|
| Drill power | Breaks through harder rock layers faster |
| Fuel tank | Lets you stay submerged longer before surfacing |
| Cargo hold | Carries more ore per trip, so each dive earns more |
| Hull strength | Absorbs damage from difficult terrain |
| Engine speed | Moves the rig quicker through open water |
Depth layers and what you find
The seabed in Aqua Miner is divided into depth bands. The top layers hold common stone and low-value ores. Push past those and the rock gets denser, but so does the payout. Rare minerals and gem-like deposits only appear at significant depth, which is the main pull for keeping you upgrading. Early on you surface often. Later, a single dive can yield enough to buy two or three upgrades at once.
Tips for going deeper
- Upgrade your fuel tank early. Running out of fuel mid-dive means you surface with whatever you have, which is often not much.
- Do not ignore hull strength once you hit harder rock. A cracked rig cuts runs short.
- Full cargo trips beat partial ones. Wait until the hold is close to full before surfacing.
- Prioritise drill power when you feel like you are grinding the same layer repeatedly.
- The rarest ore near the bottom is worth more per unit, so a single deep run can outpace several shallow ones.
